Who We Are

The Palm Springs Democratic Club (PSDC)  is a growing group of concerned and committed citizens who are taking an active and vocal role in the political process.  We created PSDC as a section 527 organization in July 2006 and meet monthly.  We focus on Palm Springs because it is our home -- where we live out fundamental family values and care deeply about our loved ones, friends, neighbors, community and livelihood.  We don't have dry, Robert's Rules type meetings.  Instead, we combine political events in homes, businesses or community centers that lend themselves to featured speakers (such as City Council, Assembly or Congressional candidates), films or other types of programs along with social contact.  Currently, we have more than 100 members, are chartered under the auspices of the Riverside Democratic Committee and guided by a nine-member Board.

Our Mission

To create a community of Palm Springs Democratic registered voters where all can express their beliefs, promote their values and actively pursue a progressive society within our city.

Our Objectives

  • To increase numbers of Democratic registered voters and Permanent Vote by Mail (PVBM) registered voters in Palm Springs;
  • To maximize turnout of Democratic registered voters in all elections -- municipal, state and federal;
  • To support Democratic candidates for all elected and appointed offices, boards and commissions in Palm Springs.

Our Beliefs

We believe:

  • In social equality, equal opportunity and the use of government to pursue both.
  • In a safe, secure America, fair wages, universal healthcare, first-rate education systems accessible to all and environmental policies that sustain the planet and human life.
  • That United States foreign policy must reflect the tenets of our Constitution, the goodness of our citizens and our irrevocable commitment to continuity of human existence.
  • That we must actively advocate and work for these beliefs in our own local community.
  • That the government and citizens of Palm Springs face increasing challenges in addressing homelessness, healthcare, environmental, energy, housing, development and quality of life issues.
  • That activism and involvement in political processes are fundamental responsibilities of citizenship.
